EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR

I’ve spent the last 11 years as ECD at one agency. Watching it morph from Karmarama, into Accenture Song, and finally Droga5.

That’s 11 years of award-winning, acclaimed, and highly effective work for the British Army – a client we won in my first year, and which I led creatively.

I started my career at Saatchi & Saatchi in its heyday, writing (and then overseeing) famous work for Castlemaine XXXX, Le Creuset, Habitat, Club 18-30, Nursing, Met Police, and, yes, the Army - I’ve pitched and won it twice. I was promoted to the Board and rose through the ranks to become Joint Executive Creative Director. During my time in charge of the creative department, Saatchi was named Agency of the Year at Cannes for the first time in its history.

After nearly 12 years, I left to be part of the leadership team at Weiden and Kennedy London, before joining Publicis, where as Joint ECD I helped create different-shaped award-winning work like The Megane Experiment, iHobo, and Start Thinking Soldier.

I then joined Crispin Porter + Bogusky London as European CD on Milka, before finally becoming ECD at Karmarama in 2015. Highlights include a film with over 65 million views for CBeebies. Being the creative lead on pitch wins for NCS, First Direct and ao.com. And most recently being ECD on Lidl, creating the award-winning Lidl Jacket.

I’ve won hundreds of awards (gold, silver, the odd Grand Prix) at all the best shows, including Cannes, One Show, Campaign, British Television, IPA, DMA. But the ones I’m most proud of are my fifteen D&AD Yellow Pencils – eight as a writer, seven more as a CD/ECD.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with two stellar art directors, Antony Easton and Alexandra Taylor.

I know how to lead, inspire creatives, collaborate with clients at the highest level, write great work, help write great work, build strategies, win pitches, fill a blank page, hustle, sweat the detail, and have fun.
